1. Diploma courses and duration of the courses:
Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University (Dr.YSRHU) offers the following two Diploma
Programmes.
1. Diploma in Horticulture
2. Diploma in Horticultural
Food Processing
2. Eligibility:
The candidates should fulfill the following criteria
2.1 Academic Qualification:
I. Candidate should have passed SSC Examination conducted by Board of Secondary
Education or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of
Secondary Education such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian
Council for Secondary Education (ICSE), National Institute of Open School (NIOS), Open
School Society (OSS).
II. Candidate should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh as defined in G.O. (P). No. 646,
Education (W) Dept, dated. 10.07.1979 and its subsequent amendments.
III. Candidates who appeared SSC or equivalent examination held in March/April-2024, and
whose results are yet to be declared can also apply.
IV. Candidates who have passed SSC in compartmental and who have either discontinued
or failed in intermediate are also eligible for diploma admission.
V. Candidate who had passed intermediate or pursuing higher studies are not eligible for
admission into diploma courses offered by Dr.YSRHU.
2. Selection Process:
Per cent of marks/ Total marks obtained in SSC or its equivalent examination will be
considered in the order of merit for seat allotment.
In case of tie, the marks/grade point obtained first in Science and later in Mathematics and
Social, respectively will be taken into consideration for tie breaking.
In case if tie still continues, the age of the candidates will be taken into consideration and the
older candidates will be given preference.
