AP NMMS Eligibility Criteria 2026
Class VII Marks
Candidates belonging to OC and BC categories should have secured at least 55% marks in Class VII during the academic year 2025-26.
SC and ST candidates should have secured at least 50% marks or the prescribed equivalent grade.
Eligible Schools
Students studying Class VIII in the following categories of schools are eligible subject to the prescribed conditions:
- Government Schools
- Zilla Parishad Schools
- Municipal / Local Body Schools
- MPUP Schools running Class VIII
- Government Aided Schools
- AP Model Schools – Day Scholars only
Parental Income Limit
An Income Certificate issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) has to be produced as proof.

AP NMMS Exam Pattern 2026
The AP NMMS Examination consists of two tests:
1. Mental Ability Test – MAT
The Mental Ability Test evaluates areas such as reasoning, critical thinking and verbal and non-verbal abilities.
2. Scholastic Aptitude Test – SAT
The Scholastic Aptitude Test covers:
- Social Science
- Science
- Mathematics

How to Apply for AP NMMS 2026
- Visit the official Directorate of Government Examinations website.
- Open the AP NMMS / NMMSS 2026-27 application.
- Enter the required student details correctly.
- Submit required certificates and details to the concerned Headmaster.
- Pay the prescribed examination fee through SBI Collect.
- The concerned Headmaster should upload and process the application within the prescribed schedule.
Continuation of NMMS Scholarship
The scholarship starts from Class IX and may continue up to Class XII subject to fulfillment of the conditions prescribed by the Ministry of Education.
- The student should secure promotion from Class IX to Class X and from Class XI to Class XII in the first attempt.
- The awardee should obtain the prescribed minimum marks in Class X.
- Other continuation conditions prescribed under the NMMS Scheme will apply.
