What is the STEM Stars Scholarship?
STEM Stars Scholarship is presented by Infosys Organisation in order to support female students who are not able to continue their education in the science stream. According to a study done by the organization around 1.6 million girls are not able to get good quality education because they belong to the economically backward section of the society. 25% of female students will face unfortunate circumstances and it creates problems for them to continue their education in classes 10 and 12th. In order to eliminate all the differences that the female students are facing this scholarship was created by Infosys Foundation. Financial rewards are waiting for the beneficiaries of this prestigious scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Girl students who are citizens of India
- Applicants must be enrolled in the first year of graduation at institutes of repute (NIRF accredited) in Engineering, Medical (MBBS) and other related STEM streams.
- Applicant’s annual family income must be less than or equal to INR 8,00,000.
- Applicants must have obtained admission into the identified colleges and completed their Class 12.
- Ongoing performance score should be a CGPA of 7 in engineering and such related courses and a pass qualification in all subjects for the year in MBBS for continuity till the completion of the system.
Required Documents
- Class 12 marksheet, passing certificates, and the JEE / CET /NEET scorecard.
- A government-issued identity proof (Aadhaar card/ voter ID card/driving license/PAN card).
- Current year admission proof (fee receipt/admission letter/institution identity card/ bonafide certificate).
- Family income proof certificate issued by the appropriate govt. offices / BPL or similar card / Ayushman Bharat card.
- Electricity bills for the past 6 months are to be provided as an additional supporting document.
- Bank account details of the applicant (bank passbook/cancelled cheque).
- Recent passport-size photograph.

దేశంలో బలహీన వర్గాలకు చెందిన బాలికల విద్య కోసం ఐటీ దిగ్గజం ఇన్ఫోసిస్‌ సంస్థ ముందుకొచ్చింది. ఇందులో భాగంగా ఇన్ఫోసిస్‌ ఫౌండేషన్‌ ద్వారా బాలికలకు ఉపకారవేతనాలను అందించనుంది. ఇందుకోసం రూ.100 కోట్లు ఖర్చు చేయనున్నట్లు ఇన్ఫోసిస్‌ ఫౌండేషన్‌ ఒక ప్రకటనలో వెల్లడించింది. ఇన్ఫోసిస్‌ ఫౌండేషన్‌ ఆధ్వర్యంలో స్టెమ్‌ స్టార్స్‌ (STEM Stars) పేరుతో స్కాలర్షిప్ ప్రోగ్రామ్‌ను ప్రారంభించనుంది.
ఈ స్కాలర్‌షిప్‌ల ద్వారా బాలికల చదువుకు ఆర్థిక సాయం అందుతుందని ఇన్ఫోసిస్‌ ఫౌండేషన్‌ తెలిపింది. ‘ఆడపిల్లల చదువు వారి పిల్లల జీవితంపై ప్రభావం చూపుతుంది. అందుకే మేం 'స్టెమ్‌ స్టార్స్‌' స్కాలర్‌షిప్‌ను తీసుకొచ్చినట్లు ఇన్ఫోసిస్‌ ఫౌండేషన్‌ స్పష్టం చేసింది. బాలికల చదువులకు ఎలాంటి ఆటంకం కలగకుండా ఉండేందుకు అవసరమైన ట్యూషన్‌ ఫీజు, వసతి ఖర్చులు, స్టడీ మెటీరియల్‌ ఇలా.. అన్నింటికీ కలిపి ఏడాదికి లక్ష రూపాయలు.. నాలుగేళ్ల పాటు ఆర్థిక సాయాన్ని అందిస్తామని వెల్లడించింది.
స్టెమ్‌ స్టార్స్‌ స్కాలర్షిప్ ప్రోగ్రామ్ మొదటి దశలో భాగంగా 2,000 మందికి పైగా బాలికల చదువుకు చేయూత అందించనుంది. దేశంలోని ప్రముఖ కళాశాలల్లో సైన్స్‌, టెక్నాలజీ, ఇంజినీరింగ్‌, గణితం ఏ విభాగంలో ఉన్నత విద్యను అభ్యసించినా.. ఫౌండేషన్‌ ద్వారా ఆర్ధికసాయం పొందుతారు. తొలి ఏడాదిలో ఐఐటీ, బిట్స్‌ పిలానీ, ఎన్‌ఐటీతో పాటు నేషనల్‌ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్ ర్యాంకింగ్ ఫ్రేమ్‌వర్క్ గుర్తింపు పొందిన ఇతర ఉన్నత విద్యా సంస్థల్లో చదవాలనుకున్న విద్యార్థులకు సహకారం అందించనున్నట్లు ఇన్ఫోసిస్‌ ఫౌండేషన్‌ ట్రస్టీ సుమిత్‌ విర్మనీ తెలిపారు
